CD Redesign

For my CD Redesign I chose the album Doolittle by The Pixies. The assignment focused on creating a completely original image, instead of recreating the original album cover. The goal was to create an image that was unique but still correctly portrayed the nature of the chosen album.

Inspiration

The overall nature of Doolittle is dark, whimsical, playful, yet tense. I thought the original monkey motif was very important to the album. For the characteristics of the monkey and because of the hit song from the album “Monkey Gone to Heaven”. I strived to give it a grunge look with playful elements like the typography and the subject matter.
